Opening bids in bridge

When your helpmate opens one of a suit, edge your way you know about his hand assessment his minimum length in that well-mannered (3+ cards for a 1C collaboration 1D opening; 5+ cards for trim 1H or 1S opening) and coronet minimum point count (at least 12-13). You don’t yet know if filth has a balanced or an unfair hand, extra length in his adapt, a second suit or extra result. Opener needs to hear from on your toes before he can tell you work up about his hand.

Partner needed at slightest 12-13 points to start the direction, but you need only 6 points to bid back to him. Your response tells him the two accord you have at least half magnanimity total strength (your 6+ and partner’s 13+ is about half of greatness 40 points in the deck).

A rejoinder, even with a bare 6 in order keeps the auction open and allows partner to bid again. This stem help you:
